_[Filler note — replace with a real one.]_ I used to pride myself on reading
three papers a day. Then I noticed I couldn't reconstruct the argument of any
of them a week later.

Now I read one paper slowly, with a pen. The constraint is the feature: if a
claim doesn't survive being rewritten in my own words, I didn't understand
it, and neither — sometimes — did the authors.
